Meherana (meaning "Meher Come") is an organization formed to establish a new retreat center dedicated to Meher Baba in the western United States. The center is located on 188 acres in the Mariposa County area of California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, an hour's drive from Yosemite National Park. The property features rolling hills, clear streams fed by melting mountain snow, and abundant forests of oak and pine.
The center has already been the site of one major gathering with close Meher Baba mandali (disciple) Bhau Kalchuri. Another short-term development goal is to esablish a year-round retreat with camping facilities on the property for people with an interest in Meher Baba. Longer-term goals include the construction of a meeting/dining hall and kitchen facilities, cabins for pilgrims, recreation facilities, a library and archive center, meditation areas, a children's play area, and an orchard and garden.
