HIS BOUNTY IN THE FORM OF SUFFERING

 
He who has truly known Baba to some extent, has known the eloquence of His Silence and depth of His Compassion. It is the few who recognize His bounty in the form of suffering and agony which gives birth to a deeper love and understanding and teaches us to accept His Will without any compromise. I was reading the Odes of Hafiz yesterday and these lines seem to echo many a lover's heart:

I lay the head of desire on the threshold of the Holy Friend,
For whatever befalls me is His Will.
I have seen none equal to the Friend.
Although moon and sun I have placed as mirrors
before His face, they imperfectly reflect His Glory.
