HEART TALK - More Original Letters: Seventh Letter

This is a letter from Jal Kerawalla in Bangalore, conveying Baba's
instructions to Chanji, who was in Bombay.

The letter concerns appeals to Sir Mirza Ismail, the Dewan (Prime
Minister) of Mysore state, perhaps in relation to Baba's wish to
acquire additional land for a proposed center there.

"Baba is awaiting your proposed reply to the paper..." - refers to
Chanji's attempt to counter derogatory articles against Meher
Baba being published in the press, chiefly by Colonel Irani, who
had come to Bangalore to deliver a series of lectures critical of
Baba.

Baba's signature is at the bottom of the letter.

Some adjustments have been made for clarity. The original can

Dear Chanji,

Shri Baba received your letter together with the drafts you sent for
the Diwan. Shri Baba does not think it necessary to send the letter
to the Diwan or to send Norina for the same purpose.

Baba is awaiting your proposed reply to the paper and will give
you further instructions on going through it.

I hope you are getting on quite well and are enjoying your short
trip to Bombay. We all are quite well here and miss you very much
as you have a kenk [kink] to amuse even the most serious person.

With love and blessings from Baba for you all at home.
Yours sincerely
Jal Kerawalla

M. S. Irani [Baba's handwriting]
