                                    Meherabad
                                    19 June 2008

According to the rain records for the Ahmednagar District for
more than the past one hundred years, our area receives most of its rain
in June just before the monsoon (a bit more than 5 inches) and in
September just after the monsoon (a bit more than 7 inches). Once the
monsoon wind current starts out of the southwest (from late June to
early September) our area, being the backside of the ghats, becomes a
rain shadow area where rain clouds cannot form sufficiently for it to
rain heavily.

This year, although we did have two downpours in June, the June
rains are way below average and not enough to fully recharge Meherabad's
Wells after they have been depleted by the summer dry season. Our two
best wells, way to the West of Beloved Baba's Samadhi, are still quite
productive, but their supply will diminish during the months of July and
August when, traditionally, we only receive light rain showers that are
no sufficient to replenish our wells.

Our Municipal water supply from Ahmednagar has been greatly
reduced to a level of about half of what it was a year ago due to
increased supply requirements in the surrounding area. The water supply
from our new Ghospori water scheme has been erratic, and for more than
two weeks has given us no water at all.

This means that almost all of Meherabad's water needs are being met
by the two wells to the west of Baba's Samadhi. The water supply into
these wells is diminishing. We must do all we can to conserve this
supply until the onset of our annual heavy rains in September.
Accordingly, the Trust's Water Committee in conjunction with the Trust's
Environmental committee makes the following request:

NO GARDENS AT INDIVIDUAL RESIDENCES EITHER ON OR OFF OF THE TRUST ESTATE
SHOULD BE WATERED WITH MEHERABAD'S WATER SUPPLY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

All are reminded that this request is in keeping with the condition
that the Trust made in giving residences water connections that Trust
water is only for domestic purposes and not for watering gardens.

If and when there our water supply allows for it, the watering of
trees and plants in the public areas of Meherabad will be done by Jesse
Massa, Bif Soper, Jeff Deloe, Ramesh Jangle and Peter Booth in the areas
under their care.

All Meherabad residents are kindly asked to cooperate with this
restriction, for, if this restriction is not followed, we will not have
enough water to provide for the needs of Beloved Baba's Pilgrims in the
coming months.
