  Very exciting news! Keeping in mind the Avatar Meher Baba Trust objectives of providing more educational opportunities for pilgrims and visitors to focus on Baba's life and work while on pilgrimage to Meherabad, on Sunday, February 18, 2007, the AMBPPCT board of Trustees approved the proposal for a ‘Meher Media Center’ in the Meher Pilgrim Center. The former men and women’s dorms will be used for this purpose, with the women’s dorm becoming the Media Center Study and Research Room, for viewing of multi-media, CD-rams, and scanned materials at computer stations. This quiet media viewing and data base usage room will be set up with areas for 4-5 people to view the collection on the computers, and 4-5 more study spaces for people to work with their own lap-top computers or old-fashioned notebooks with paper and pen! The computers are for viewing, listening and reference studying only, with headphones for quiet – copying of the collection will not be possible.
   
  The former men’s dorm will be the Media Center Multi-purpose Room, where power point presentations, dvd’s, slide shows, and other media can be viewed by small groups. There will be regularly scheduled viewings of Baba and mandali videos and dvd’s in a variety of languages. This room may also be checked out for small group discussions and meetings on Baba’s life and work, i.e. Discourse meetings, etc.
   
  The goal for the Media Center Study and Research Room is to be up and running by November 2007. Currently the collection is being prepared and equipment and materials are being lined up. Volunteers will be needed to keep the media center open and operating. The start-up budget allows for one computer and one projector. 
   
  The goal for the Multi-purpose Room is to be ready by June 15, 2007, but since we are leaving in two weeks, we'd actually like to have it outfitted as much as possible now. The TV currently in the MPC dining hall, vcr and dvd player were donated previously for watching mandali videos and will be moved to the Multi-purpose room for user-friendly viewing. The Media Center is happy to receive donated materials, furniture and equipment in good working condition.  Please contact me asap for details on what kinds of equipment is needed and if you wish to help establish, maintain, or volunteer to work at this new media center. What a wonderful new venue for Baba’s remembrance!
