HE SEEMED TO BE FLOATING ABOVE THE PATH

Najoo Kotwal

On our return from Ajmer, Hilloo and I fell easily back into the now-familiar pattern of life on the Hill, playing games, listening to stories, and gathering with all the others under the tin shed to be with Baba. I particularly enjoyed our early morning walks down the Hill with Him. Sometimes when I looked at Baba's feet, He seemed to be floating above the path, just as Jesus did when he walked on the water.

Hilloo and I were often reminded of that story on these walks because at St. Anne's we were required to study the Catechism and the Bible, which we loved. When we read about Jesus, we thought of our Baba, and we always scored the highest marks in those subjects.

Baba would allow us children to walk with Him almost to the railroad tracks at the base of the Hill. He would then clap, and we would make a quick turn and run back up.
